From lecture notes to flashcards in three steps

1

Install the app

Download StudyGlen from the App Store and start straight away. There is no sign-up wall, so you can build your first deck as a guest.

2

Add your material

Type a topic, paste your notes, upload a PDF, photograph a textbook page or paste a YouTube link. The AI reads it and writes the flashcards.

3

Review a little each day

Rate each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy. FSRS uses those ratings to schedule the next review for the moment you are about to forget it.

What the app does

A focused flashcard app β€” no feeds, no clutter, just the cards you need to learn.

The AI writes the cards
Hand it raw material and get a finished deck back: questions, answers, cloze gaps and explanatory images, generated in seconds.
Five ways to start a deck
A topic you type, text you paste, a PDF, a photo of a page read with OCR, or a YouTube video β€” the app takes all five as input.
FSRS spaced repetition
The scheduler behind the app is FSRS, the modern successor to Anki's SM-2. It aims each review at the point where your recall is about to fail.
Study offline
Your decks are cached on the device. Review on the underground or on a plane, and your ratings sync the moment you are back online.
Bring your Anki decks
Import an .apkg file and keep studying the decks you already built, rescheduled by an algorithm that adapts to how you actually answer.
13 languages
The interface and the cards it generates work in 13 languages, including full right-to-left support for Arabic.

Why a flashcard app with spaced repetition beats a paper stack

Paper flashcards have one flaw: you decide when to review them, and you always reach for the cards you already know. It feels productive and teaches you very little. Spaced repetition takes that decision away from you β€” the app tracks how well you recalled each card and brings it back just before you would have forgotten it.

StudyGlen schedules with FSRS, a model trained on hundreds of millions of real reviews. Cards you find easy drift weeks apart; the ones you keep missing return tomorrow. Across a term that means far fewer reviews for the same retention, which is exactly what you want when you are studying in five-minute gaps on your phone.

Who studies with StudyGlen

Medical and nursing students

Turn lecture PDFs and anatomy diagrams into decks with images on the cards. The sheer volume that makes med school hard is what this handles best.

Exam and test prep

Photograph the chapter, get a deck, and let the scheduler spread your revision across the weeks before the exam instead of the night before it.

Language learners

Build vocabulary decks in any of 13 languages and review them in short daily sessions that fit around everything else you are doing.

Questions about the app

What people ask before installing.

Yes. You can install it and review as much as you like for free, including one AI-generated deck every day. If you want to generate more than that, credit packs are available in the app β€” there is no subscription.

Reviewing does. Your decks are stored on the device, so you can study with no signal and your ratings upload when you reconnect. Generating a new deck needs a connection, because the AI runs on our servers.

Not yet β€” the app is iPhone-only for now. StudyGlen also runs as a web app in any mobile browser, so Android users get the same flashcard generation and FSRS scheduling without installing anything.

Yes. Import an .apkg file and your existing cards come across, then get scheduled by FSRS alongside anything you generate in the app.

A topic you type, text you paste, a PDF, a photo of a page β€” it reads the text with OCR β€” or a YouTube video, where the app pulls the transcript and builds cards from it.
